I think it's a little too soon for her to give affection. There is definitely a pecking order and most likely the male in the house. It was that way in ours; but I was able to do anything with her when he wasn't at home. You always want the bird to be at a lower level than you also when you attempt to touch her, but remember her enemies come from above also; so go slow.
