Website Development

I have developed several different websites for several different organizations and purposes.  I have experience using several different platforms for website development including: Frontpage, Drupal, Word Press, Blogger, Moodle, and a few others.  I have a basic understanding of how to install and maintain PHP programs, and a functional understanding of HTML coding.

Pinellas Preparatory Academy – http://www.pinellasprep.org/

When I first started working for Pinellas Preparatory Academy they had hired an individual to manage the school’s website, however, it was terribly under used, lacked information, and visually disturbing.  One of the first things I did once I was hired was to develop a website using Frontpage.  The website was developed for dual purposes: recruitment, and communication.  I tried to post as much information on the site as possible.

In 2009 I decided that the static website we had available was not what we needed to successfully promote or keep families informed.  I taught myself how to install and use Drupal, and moved our website over to this platform.  The new format has allowed for more dynamic content, RSS feeds, and easier updates by both myself and staff members.  It also has allowed for greater integration of tools such as Google Calendar, commenting, etc.

Deaf Empowerment

While my wife was running the non-profit agency, Deaf Empowerment, I took on the role of developing and maintaining a website for the agency. I used primarily Frontpage for the development of this website and maintained it as a way to keep the community informed of the activities the agency was involved in.  The website is now maintained by another individual and no longer maintains any of the structure I had for the site.

McKinley Elementary School

I started working for McKinley Elementary School during the 2000 Presidential Election. At the time within out building was both a traditional public elementary school and a charter school.  The George W. Bush campaign choose the school as a campaign stop but put several stipulations on the school as a result of the visit.  One of the requirements was that the school was to have a website.  My Principal at the time hired a substitute teacher to cover my class for several days and asked me to develop a website. Using Frontpage I developed a website which had pages for each teacher, their curriculum general activities, and general school information.  Over my four years with the school I maintained this website, and taught professional development classes to the other staff on how to update their own pages and post information for their families.

Edison Elementary School

While working at Edison Elementary School I developed a website for my classroom, and posted assignments, spelling lists, and the class newsletter.  I was the only teacher in the school at the time to be posting such information.

Student Wisconsin Education Association

My first elected position to this state wide professional agency for future teachers was as the Public Relations Coordinator. My primary responsibility was developing a newsletter.  However, I also used the opportunity to develop a website for the organization.

PrincipalFuller.com Blog – http://PrincipalFuller.com

I currently maintain a professional development site at http://PrincipalFuller.com/ The site was a follow up to my attending the Google Teachers Academy for Administrators in February of 2010.  I use the site to post videos and screencasts on how to use various Google tools for education.  While I haven’t posted in a while, I plan to continue to post information when time allows.

Family Website – http://www.fullerfamily.ws/

When we moved from Wisconsin to Florida, I setup a family website at http://www.fullerfamily.ws/ (you are currently viewing a sub-site of this site).  The site was developed as a way to post information to keep our family informed of how things are going, pictures, etc.  I recently lost my backup and had to reinstall the site, so there is not currently much information available.
